You are cordially invited to a profoundly moving event: the Opening Ceremony of the Gold Star Tribute Wall, dedicated to honoring our fallen heroes and supporting their Gold Star families. This solemn ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Bert's Barracuda Harley Davidson, Our theme for the day is "Honoring, Remembering, and Healing." The Gold Star Tribute Wall stands as a permanent testament to the ultimate sacrifice made by brave service members. This opening ceremony is a vital opportunity for our community to gather, pay respects, and offer solace to the families who have given so much.
Here's a brief overview of the ceremony:
10:00 AM: Guests arrive to respectful instrumental music. Welcome and Call to Order by Emcee Alyse Zwick, acknowledging our honored guests and Gold Star families. Posting of Colors by the UT SROTC Color Guard. Invocation and Moment of Reflection led by Pastor Bob.
10:25 AM: Moving performances of the National Anthem by Bellas Albano and a solemn Bagpipes piece by Matt McCutheran. Gold Star Tribute & Wreath Laying, featuring local Gold Star Mothers reading the names of the fallen, accompanied by a bell. Remarks from distinguished speakers including Sam Nicora (Executive Director, GSTW), Gen Hartsell (FDVA), Gen Flynn (Keynote Speaker), and Maj Macksam. 1
Closing Remarks & Benediction by Alyse Zwick and Pastor Bob, followed by Bagpipes playing "Amazing Grace" and "Taps."
11:25 AM Onwards: An opportunity for personal viewing and reflection at the Tribute Wall. Light refreshments will be available.
